Cultural&Educational Facilities

The Nakoso Barrier Literature and History Museum was opened in 1988 and displays many historical items related to the origin of the Nakoso Barrier, as well as other poems and writings created by citizens of Iwaki.
Nakoso Barrier is well known as the place about which the ancient warrior Minato no Yoshie wrote a very
famous poem.
A complete set of armour is now on display at the museum, and is said to be based on what Minato no Yoshie was believed to be wearing at the time he passed through the Nakoso area.
